Membership at Church 1228 is not simply adding your name to a list. It is saying:

This is my church family.

This is a house I am willing to help build.

This is a mission I am willing to carry.

Members of Church 1228 commit to growing in their relationship with Jesus, protecting the unity of the church, serving according to their gifts and season of life, growing in generosity, helping create an atmosphere of faith and worship, and carrying Christ into their homes, workplaces, schools, communities, DFW, and online.

Pursue Jesus

Jesus Christ comes first. Membership begins with a personal commitment to follow Him and continue growing as His disciple.

Hear the Word

We believe Scripture is our foundation. We come ready to learn, receive, and grow.

Live the Word

We do not want to only hear Scripture. We want the way we live to reflect what God has taught us.

Carry the Word

Every member has a corner. Our homes, neighborhoods, jobs, schools, businesses, relationships, communities, and digital platforms are all places where we can represent Christ.

Set the Atmosphere

We believe every person carries something into a room. Members help create an atmosphere of faith, worship, love, encouragement, excellence, peace, and unity.

Everybody Praises

Worship is not a performance we watch. We are a house of worshippers.

Everybody Gives

Generosity includes our time, gifts, resources, finances, encouragement, prayer, abilities, and obedience.

Everybody Carries

Everybody does not have to do everything, but everybody can do something. We believe many hands make light work so people can serve without being burned out.

Protect the House

Members pursue unity, communicate biblically, avoid gossip and unnecessary division, forgive, extend grace, and help protect the spiritual health of the church.

Represent Christ Well

We represent Jesus first. We also understand that when we identify ourselves with Church 1228, our words, conduct, relationships, business practices, and online presence reflect on our church family.

What Is 1228 Foundations?

1228 Foundations is our introductory membership class for anyone who believes Church 1228 may be the place God is calling them to make home.

During this approximately 60–90 minute class, you will learn:

•Our mission, vision, and biblical foundation
•What we believe
•The culture of Church 1228
•What it means to Set the Atmosphere
•Everybody Praises, Everybody Gives, Everybody Carries
•How we serve without creating burnout
•How members represent Christ and one another
•Where Church 1228 is going
•Opportunities to serve, grow, and help carry the mission
•The Church 1228 Membership Covenant

Who It's For

Who Should Register?

1228 Foundations is for:

•People who have been attending Church 1228 and are ready to take a next step
•People who believe God may be planting them at Church 1228
•People who want to learn more about our church before making a membership decision
•Existing members or leaders who want a stronger understanding of the culture and mission of Church 1228

Registering for Foundations does not force someone to become a member. You are welcome to attend, learn, ask questions, pray about it, and then decide whether Church 1228 is where God is calling you to be planted.
