What started as a Wednesday night gathering is becoming a church family. Church 1228 is preparing for the next chapter — Sunday gatherings, children's ministry, special needs ministry, worship, outreach, and a future home in North Texas.

When Pastor Kennith and Josilyne Thomas moved their family to Texas, planting a church was not the original plan.
We knew God was calling us to move, but we did not fully understand the assignment.
Over time, the Lord made it clearer. People began gathering. Relationships began forming. Families began growing in faith. Doors began opening.
Church 1228 was born out of obedience.
Today we gather every Wednesday night at Oak + Ivy Venue in Aubrey, Texas, where God has graciously provided a place for us to build without the burden of weekly facility overhead.
What started as a gathering is becoming a church family.
Wednesday was the beginning.
Sunday is the next step.
We are grateful for everything God is doing through our Wednesday gatherings.
But we believe the next season requires greater capacity.
Sunday gatherings would allow Church 1228 to reach more families, build stronger children's ministry, develop special needs ministry, strengthen worship and discipleship, and create more opportunities for people throughout North Texas to encounter Jesus.
We are not simply trying to add another church service.
We are making room for people.
There is room

We are building for marriages.
We are building for singles.
We are building for seniors.
We are building for people with special needs.
We are building for people who have known Jesus for decades.
We are building for people who are still trying to figure out what they believe.

What $200,000 Helps Build
Every gift is an investment in people.
Sunday Facility + Future Home
Sunday venue costs, deposits, facility preparation, storage, and future facility readiness.
Children's Ministry
Safe environments, curriculum, check-in systems, supplies, volunteers, and spaces designed for children to encounter Jesus.
Special Needs Ministry
Sensory resources, accessibility, volunteer training, family support, and ministry environments where every person can belong.
Worship + Production
Instruments, microphones, monitors, audio, media, livestream, lighting, signage, and the equipment necessary to support worship and communicate the Gospel.
Outreach + Evangelism
Community events, invitations, digital outreach, local advertising, missions, benevolence, and opportunities to carry the Word beyond our walls.
Ministry Leadership + Operations
Healthy ministry requires healthy systems. Giving helps support leadership, staffing, insurance, administration, technology, ministry software, and operational needs.
Financial Reserve
We want Church 1228 to build responsibly. Part of this goal will establish financial reserves so the ministry can withstand unexpected expenses and continue serving people without operating in constant financial pressure.
Final allocation may adjust based on ministry needs, facility opportunities, board-approved budgets, and how God provides throughout 2027.
We are not starting from zero.
God has already opened doors.
Church 1228 has received generous financial support, equipment, ministry partnerships, and the blessing of using Oak + Ivy Venue for our Wednesday gatherings.
So far, approximately:

has already been given toward the ministry and its next season.
We are grateful. And we believe this is only the beginning.
Church 1228 is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
